We are currently seeking a motivated Assembler to join our team on behalf of our client, based in Bury St Edmunds, on a temporary basis. As an Assembler, you will play a crucial role in assembling and testing valves, switches, and controls, ensuring the completion of units or subassemblies.

Under general supervision, you will perform routine tasks in a cross-functional environment while maintaining a commitment to quality and safety standards.

Essential Functions/Duties:
• Assemble and test valves, switches, and controls to form complete units or subassemblies.
• Interpret assembly drawings to ensure accurate production.
• Adhere to all company quality standards and safety protocols.
• Perform shop order picking and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Uphold the principles of high 5s for efficient workplace organization.
• Respond positively and productively to changes in tasks and priorities.
• Be willing to work additional hours when required to meet position requirements.
• Stay informed about changes to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
• Satisfactory standard of general education.
• Minimum one year of experience in assembly manufacturing/production.
• Related experience and/or training.

Knowledge & Skills:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Experience:
• Minimum one year of experience in assembly manufacturing/production.
Additional information:
• 37.5hours a week - unpaid 30 min break daily as well as 2 short paid breaks
• 6am start time
• Overtime consistently available
• £10.50ph - potential for a permanent contract at the end of 12 weeks

Working Conditions:
The position involves working in a manufacturing environment with periodic exposure to noise levels, chemical compounds, and fumes associated with electronic/mechanical component assembly.

Physical Requirements:
This role requires a good level of fitness and involves frequent standing. Additionally, there may be lifting and carrying of materials.
