A reputable business, based in Woolpit, seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a permanent, full-time basis. Working within the Construction industry, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Director and a small team of dedicated professionals.

Your primary responsibilities will include processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting various accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Invoice Processing: Handle sales and supplier invoices efficiently.
• Reconciliation: Match delivery notes to purchase/sales invoices and conduct monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
• Supplier Accounts: Set up and maintain supplier accounts, ensuring accurate records.
• Payments Management: Reconcile supplier statements to Sage accounts and manage payments.
• Expense Processing: Process business expense returns and petty cash/credit card transactions.
• Cash Book and Bank Statements: Update the cash book daily and perform monthly bank statement reconciliations.
• Payment Allocation: Allocate payments on Sage accurately and record retention deductions.
• Payroll and Credit Control: Assist with payroll and credit control activities.
• Account Reconciliations: Handle payment applications and final account reconciliations.
• Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other duties as required to support the finance team.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience in a similar accounts assistant role, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in using Sage accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of payroll and credit control processes is advantageous.
