Compass Point Recruitment is seeking a motivated and experienced CNC Machinist to manage the day-to-day operations of a machine shop for a specialist engineering company in the food manufacturing industry. This position offers excellent career growth opportunities, with the potential to progress into a managerial role in the future.
The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to estimate time and materials, and a solid background in CNC machining, engineering, or manufacturing. This position offers a Monday-to-Friday office-based schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and program multi-axis machining centers
- Perform complete multi-tool setups
- Conduct manual checks of components
- Ensure compliance with technical documentation
- Perform milling and turning work to a high standard
- Prioritize jobs based on business needs and delivery deadlines
Candidate Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering setting as a CNC setter/operator/programmer
- Proficiency in Fanuc programming and general knowledge of G & M codes
- Ability to read technical drawings and deliver work to specifications
- Experience with lathe and milling machines
- HAAS VM3
- HAAS ST35Y (with live tools and bar feeder)
- Colchester Harrison
- Tryax Mill
- XYZ Manual Mill
