Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is looking for a Controls Design Engineer to join their team in Haverhill.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing business, working with top-quality equipment in an exciting industry. You'll be responsible for designing and developing innovative and reliable electrical control systems with user-friendly interfaces.

We're looking for someone proactive and detail-oriented who can work both independently and as part of a team. Your skills and initiative will make a real difference in improving products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design control systems and electrical assemblies.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain reliable software for PLCs, HMIs, and other devices.
  • Produce clear and accurate technical documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.
  • Conduct functional and reliability testing to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with international electrical and controls standards.
  • Investigate and implement change requests using a methodical approach.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reliability and durability to support best-in-class warranties.
  • Provide engineering design support across the business.

Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role designing control systems for industrial equipment or product manufacturing.
  • Strong expertise in PLC and HMI programming.
  • Experience using data analysis tools for system optimization and user feedback.
  • Highly IT literate, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound knowledge of MRP systems, BOMs, and product data management.
  • Familiarity with design for assembly and design for serviceability principles.
  • Fully conversant with electrical and machinery compliance requirements.
