Controls Design Engineer with ref. J36682

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is looking for a Controls Design Engineer to join their team in Haverhill.

We're looking for someone proactive and detail-oriented who can work both independently and as part of a team. Your skills and initiative will make a real difference in improving products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design control systems and electrical assemblies.
Develop, manage, and maintain reliable software for PLCs, HMIs, and other devices.
Produce clear and accurate technical documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.
Conduct functional and reliability testing to ensure optimal performance.
Ensure compliance with international electrical and controls standards.
Investigate and implement change requests using a methodical approach.
Drive continuous improvement in reliability and durability to support best-in-class warranties.
Provide engineering design support across the business.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role designing control systems for industrial equipment or product manufacturing.
Strong expertise in PLC and HMI programming.
Experience using data analysis tools for system optimization and user feedback.
Highly IT literate, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Sound knowledge of MRP systems, BOMs, and product data management.
Familiarity with design for assembly and design for serviceability principles.
Fully conversant with electrical and machinery compliance requirements.
