They are a forward-thinking business who are experiencing high-demand, and therefore are looking for a committed, experience, Design Engineer, to join a welcoming team.
Your Key responsibilities:
• Design and development of the businesses product and Customer Specific injection moulded and plastic fabricated products
• Working on a variety of projects, able to adapt quickly to evolving requirements and schedules, whilst maintaining focus on delivering sound engineering solutions
• Manage and ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and specification
• Complete design changes (ECRs) in line with processes
• Collaborate with suppliers (toolmakers, material suppliers) and customers to ensure my client delivers to expectations
• Participates/lead design reviews (Peer Reviews and DFMEA), providing constructive feedback and creative ideas to enhance designs
• Solve problems; working with tool makers and customers to find the optimum solution
• Completes engineering tasks in a timely and efficient manner in line with internal processes to provide a quality service for internal and external customers
• Use MRP system to generate and manage BOM's effectively
Additional Responsibility
• Apply business processes in a manner that is compliant with relevant legislation and regulations, to protect the interests of all group companies, their partners and stakeholders.
• Comply with health and safety policy and procedures, local practices and control measures and report risks, accidents or near misses promptly to contribute to a safe workplace
• Any reasonable activity to support the performance growth and profitability of the business and all group companies
Qualifications
Ideally - Engineering qualification (BEng, HND, HNC, BSc or similar)
Skills
• Experienced user of 3D CAD systems (Solid Edge preferred, SolidWorks)
• Must have demonstrable and significant experience of injection moulded product design
• Understanding / experience of injection mould tooling and design
• Thorough understanding of a variety of engineering thermoplastics for both injection moulding and machining processes
• Ability to communicate/present technical information concisely and to a non-technical audience
• Demonstrates an in depth understanding of Design for Manufacture and Cost
• Thorough understanding and practitioner of DFMEA, PFMEA and DQ processes
• Ability to conceptualise, design and verify product to customer specifications
• Ability to effectively interact within external tool makers and internal stakeholders
• Thorough understanding and practitioner of tolerance analysis processes
• Effective management and prioritisation of tasks
