An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established business on the outskirts of Bury St. Edmunds as a Mill Operator. We are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual to take on the responsibility of operating mills while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety standards in production.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, embraces flexible working patterns, and is eager to establish or grow their career path in the food production industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate two flour mills in a 24/7 production environment.
- Monitor and adjust mill processing and cleaning equipment.
- Ensure the production of high-quality within established standards.
- Strive to increase mill capacity and optimize yield performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP) and maintain proper documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Assist the maintenance team with preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Complete shift production and food safety reports.
- Load tankers as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet production goals.
- Follow company policies and procedures consistently.
Requirements:
- Must be willing to work12-hour shift patterns (days and nights).
- A valid driving license and access to your own vehicle is required due to location.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, though training will be provided.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong initiative and computer literacy are essential.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety protocols.
- Good physical fitness is required for the role.
