Compass Point Recruitment is working with a fantastic established privately-owned company, based just outside of Bury St Edmunds, on the recruitment of an Operations Manager.

This is a busy, fast-paced role, with the opportunity to have full autonomy over an established dealership to drive success and further business growth!

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of their business, including sales, service, and hire operations; managing a team of 8 individuals.

This role demands a strategic strong leader with a proven track record in management, accountability, and strong understanding of finances, customer service skills, and the ability to drive business growth through identification of new opportunities.

This is an opportunity to have exposure across a business, with involvement and accountability for all day-to-day operations, as well as long-term opportunity to progress.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:
• Prepare weekly reports on revenue and performance.
• Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for cost reduction and profit enhancement.
• Managing cash flow including funding lines and supplier payments.
• Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
• Attending quarterly group update meetings, reviewing and reporting on monthly accounts, with monthly and yearly budget input.

Leadership and Management:
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes across all departments.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales, service, and administrative professionals.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and high morale emphasis on happy workplace culture and developing this

Sales and Business Development:
• In partnership with sales, hire and service departments, implement strategies to achieve revenue and profit targets.
• Identify new business opportunities and build strong relationships with potential clients.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the industry.

Customer Service:
• Ensure exceptional customer service standards are met and maintained.
• Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Seek ways to enhance the customer experience.

Operations and Logistics:
• Oversee stock management, ensuring optimal stock levels and product availability.
• Maintain efficient operational processes and systems.
Marketing and Promotion:
• In partnership with our marketing team, develop and execute marketing plans to promote products and services.
• Organise promotional events such as shows and events to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.

Experience:
• Proven experience in a similar managerial role, preferably in the agricultural machinery or automotive industry.
• Experience using a Dealer Management System (DMS) such as Pinewood preferred but not essential.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent sales and business development acumen.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Solid financial management and budgeting abilities.
• Be able to travel occasionally across the UK for business needs (not frequent)
• Proficient in operational and logistical management.
• Knowledge of marketing and promotional strategies.
• Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions.

Please note the working hours are:
8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday, 9am 1pm Saturdays (every other weekend Saturdays).
