Design & Technical Administrator
Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

We are delighted to be supporting a New Home build business in their search for a Design and Technical Administrator in their team. This is an integral role within the business, ensuring the smooth operations within the Design & Technical Department and support ongoing development projects.

Your role will be supporting the planning, engineering, and administrative teams within the business. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to ensure timely submission, tracking, and distribution of key documents and reports.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be a real team-worker with proven secretarial or administrative experience gained in a fast-moving office environment, you'll be working at the heart of a busy department where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

•Maintain and update Planning Condition and S106 Trackers
•Submit and monitor planning conditions and S106 obligations
•Provide monthly status updates using reports and graphs
•Assist with air test, SAP, and NHBC condition submissions
•Prepare and distribute consultant appointment forms
•Assist with contractor tenders and documentation
•Process short-term work forms for non-active sites
•Track third-party designs and documents
•Manage meeting schedules, room bookings, and meeting minutes
•Process land ownership queries and customer alteration requests
•Assist with accounts queries and data input for engineering projects
•Compile and maintain health and safety files
•Manage document submissions and formatting via the InHouse system
•Distribute monthly Land Packs, Project Trackers, and Key Date Schedules
•Handle and respond to customer requests for home alterations
•Covering Reception & handling post when required

Key Skills and Attributes:

•Strong organisational skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
•Attention to detail in data entry, document proofing, and formatting.
•Effective communication skills for working with internal teams and external parties.
•Proficiency in using document management systems and spreadsheets.
•Problem-solving abilities to address issues and find timely solutions.
•Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.

Experience:

•Experience in planning or engineering support roles preferred.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
•Familiarity with document management and project tracking tools.

Additional Information:

•Salary: Circa £25,000
•Hours: Mon Thurs 8.30 to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch & Fri 8.30 to 4.30pm with half hour for lunch
•Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk - Parking on site
